Our St. Joseph convent is in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz, on the road between Nuremberg and Regensburg. With its 40,000 inhabitants, Neumarkt is a town which also has a lot to offer visitors: Beside the medieval old town centre and the rich culture, it is above all the attractive surroundings which offer all kinds of possibilities for excursions and relaxation. Bicycle tours to the Altmühltal nearby, boat trips on the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal or visits to Nuremberg or Regensburg are on offer.

Whether by car, train or plane: Neumarkt can be easily reached from all directions.

Neumarkt is located directly on the A3 between Nuremberg and Regensburg, about 25 kilometres and so only a few minutes by car from the motorway intersections around the greater area of Nuremberg.

(Note for those using a navigation system: Give the destination as “Badstraße 88” and follow the street a little further).

By train:

Neumarkt is on the main line between Nuremberg - Regensburg and since mid-June 2011 has also been connected to the tram network in the transport association for the greater area of Nuremberg. From Nuremberg Hauptbahnhof (main station), the train leaves for Neumarkt at least twice every hour at about 20-30 minute intervals.

By plane:

From Nuremberg Airport, with its good connections to all important regions in Germany and Europe, it takes about 30 minutes on the motorway to Neumarkt. The large airport for Munich in Erdinger Moos in the north of Munich is a good hour away by car.
